When she had to second glass out there just waiting for him, I thought they made a sloppy mistake. Oh, they know what they are doing those Fringe folks, they know what they are doing.
I don't even have the words. Peter's face. Joshua Jackson was perfect in that last scene. The happiness, confusion and dread…I got teary. I did.
So maybe Peter won't need to go to the other universe, maybe the other universe is coming to him.
I read a suggestion on another board that this *is* Peter's universe, it was just altered when he was removed.

I've been kind of suspecting this all along. It would make a lot of sense.

either i'm incredibly intelligent for working out all the complexities, or i'm incredibly dumb for thinking so simply.

I can't process this. If so, how can he be interacting with everyone? My head hurts thinking about this.

I choose to think of it as similar to "Its A Wonderful Life", except instead of not being born, Peter died as a child. So its the same universe, but Peter wasn't there after a certain point to influence the outcome/future. Take Walter for instance- he never had Peter there as a comforting presence and as someone to watch out for him, so he ended up shutting himself away in his lab, and now that Peter is slowly being remembered (though it seems they dont know they ever forgot him) Walter is coming out of his shell and is more like the season 1-3 Walter.
So many possibilities.
