Mark Watches ‘Deep Space Nine’: Season 4 Predictions

Oh, I am so excited for season four. But before I venture into the great unknown, let’s reflect on how unprepared I was for season 3.

LOOK AT THESE.

1. We will see who else belongs to the Dominion. HELP ME.
2. At one point, we’ll see or meet the “Founders.” WOW I REGRET THIS, MAKE IT STOP.
3. The Dominion threat will take up a great deal of season 3. I don’t think this technically counts; it was the main serialized plot, but we didn’t get a “great deal” of stories.
4. Odo will learn more about his origins. (I JUST WANT THIS.) TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME.
5. Another Garak + Bashir episode! WHO KNEW THAT GARAK + ODO WOULD BECOME THE ACTUAL EPISODE I NEEDED.
6. We’ll get three episodes with Kai Winn and three with Vedek Bareil. Did I seriously do this. BAREIL IS DEAD, MARK. DEAD. 
7. We’ll get an episode about someone from Dax’s past. This is perhaps the funniest one because she met LITERALLY ALL OF HER PAST HOSTS.
8. Kira will break things off with Bareil. Oh, fuck you, Mark. FUCK YOU.
9. We’ll get an episode that takes place in the Mirror Universe! AND IT WAS AWESOME.
10. I will not be able to handle the adorableness of Sisko’s relationship with Jake. A safe one! I don’t care, give me a victory that isn’t Pyrrhic. 
11. We’ll see another Trill. You know… did we get one? I’m looking over the episode titles and I can’t remember.
12. I still want another episode dealing solely with the ramifications of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. I’M NOT DONE WITH THIS STORYLINE. SO MANY OF THEM. SO GOOD.
13. Maybe an episode solely about Gul Dukat??? I still want one.
14. And one about Jake, too? I’m counting “Explorers.”
15. I’M NOT READY FOR SEASON 3. TRUTH

Okay, so I feel like I have a decent basis for some season 4 predictions, so here we go:

Mark’s Predictions for Season 4

1. THE DOMINION WILL BE THE MAIN PLOT IN THIS SEASON.
2. We’ll see more Founders.
3. I will be tricked twice by a Changeling pretending to be someone.
4. MORE KASIDY YATES. LOTS MORE.
5. The Odo/Kira relationship will be explored at LEAST once.
6. Another Garak + Julian episode.
7. There will be a Gul Dukat episode too!
8. Another episode with Keiko in it!
9. The dart board will be retired.
10. I want Morn to have an episode as well.
11. The Sisko beard will stay.
12. Jake will accept the writing fellowship and leave DS9.
13. We’ll get an update about Quark’s and Rom’s mom.
14. NOG GETS INTO STARFLEET.
15. Jadzia goes on a date.
16. JADZIA DESTROYS SOMEONE.
17. The end of season 4: The Federation can’t hold off the Dominion any longer, and they invade the Alpha Quadrant.
