So, now that I’ve worked out the details, it’s time to announce the contest I’ll be running in honor of Mark Watches Veronica Mars and the wonderful people this show has brought into my life! I would like to take eight (8) people to see a midnight showing of Veronica Mars with me in Los Angeles, and THIS COULD BE YOU.
As a thanks for the unbelievable support that this community and the Veronica Mars fandom-at-large has shown me, I have eight (8) tickets to see the midnight premiere of the film. Would you like to sit with me in a theater full of VMars fans and watch this film for the first time? HERE’S HOW YOU CAN DO THIS:
1) The contest starts RIGHT NOW and will end on March 6th at 11:59pm Pacific/West coast time.
2) All you have to do to enter is compose a tweet that says, in some way, “I want to see #VeronicaMars with @MarkDoesStuff.” As long as it has the hash tag and my Twitter name on it, that counts.
3) You only need to tweet once to enter. I’m not going to do it by the number of tweets because that will overwhelm me!
4) You must be able to provide your own transportation to the theater in Los Angeles. Sadly, I cannot afford to fly/drive everyone there, so you must be able to get to the theatre that night to see the film.
The theatre we are watching this film at is the AMC Century City 15, located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90067. We will be watching the 12:01am showing on Thursday, March 13th, going into early Friday morning.
5) If you are randomly chosen as one of the winners, I will tweet you back and announce your victory the morning of March 7th. You must confirm with me that you can come via email after I’ve notified you that you’ve won. I will be compiling an email thread of all the winners so we can also plan on meeting up prior to the film and getting food/caffeine, and you will be extended an invitation to hang out then!Â
That’s it! It’s that simple. If you are close to Los Angeles and have the means to buy a ticket and get to the theater, you are also 100% welcome to join all of us as well! The theater has assigned seating, so we’ll be in Row L, seats 1-9. Come join us!
And in the interests of transparency, I must admit that during this screening, I will not be watching the film for the first time or unspoiled. I can now let y’all know that the lovely Szark, who has been a longtime supporter of me and this community, has invited me to come to the actual premiere of the movie earlier that week. If at any point I meet Kristen Bell, I can guarantee I will act as she does around sloths. I’m just warning y’all.
