OH MY GOD. JASMINE WAS ONE OF THE POWERS THAT BE. YOU ARE FUCKING KIDDING ME. LIKE I KNOW THIS WAS SORT OF DISCUSSED/REFERENCED BUT I WAS ALWAYS LIKE HAHAHA SHE IS JUST JOKING. Never in a billion years would I have ever figured out that she was genuinely trying to save the world. SHE THOUGHT THE OTHER POWERS THAT BE DID NOT CARE ENOUGH AS SHE DID, SO SHE INTERVENED IN THE LIVES OF THESE PEOPLE SO SHE COULD BECOME A PHYSICAL BEING AGAIN AND THEN SHE SERIOUSLY THOUGHT THIS WAS THE WAY THAT SHE COULD SAVE THE WORLD.
I mean, she is the textbook definition of horribly misguided, but I just downright assumed she was 100% evil. How could someone rape, murder, eat, and toy with people in the name of goodness? GUESS WHAT THERE ARE PEOPLE LITTERED THROUGHOUT HISTORY WHO HAVE DONE THIS. The twist that Jasmine was here to save Earth is one giant slap in my face for trying to assign a black-and-white moral background to her. Is what she did wrong? Oh, absolutely, and I 100% side with Angel here. You cannot force the world to become happy. You cannot violate people’s consent and call that joy and peace. You cannot eat, rape, and murder in the name of righteousness. We, as a society, cannot wait for some divine being to come down and solve everything for us. It’s never going to happen, and if it does, it will make this whole thing totally not worth it. And my god, what a powerful message that is. Angel fought for free will. He fought for the ability of humans to choose bad things, because that is what makes us human. “Our fate has to be our own, or we’re nothing.” The devotion that Jasmine forced on humanity in Los Angeles was nothing.

Oh shit, CONNOR. Where are you going? Oh god, he’s leaving, isn’t he? I mean, for real, I feel bad for his character? Like, the writers have consistently made him kind of a douche or taken advantage of or raped by Jasmine!Cordy and it’s just an endless stream of NOPE and it’s like his character is aware of this and is like FUCK Y’ALL, I AM DONE WITH THIS SHIT. On a less meta level, Connor is done with a life of lies, inconsistency, disappointment, and loneliness. No matter what he’s tried to do, he has never fit in anywhere.
