I'm already loving the gif goodness that is Mark Watches. I wish I had one of my own to share. I wish I could join in the fun tonight, but alas, my parents are moving to Ecuador (tomorrow), and they will be upset if I don't pay attention to them. Unfortunately, they have not experienced the EPICNESS of Fringe.
Having dinner with my parents tonight, so I don't know if I'll make it back in time to watch the episode live, much less liveblog. (There's no wifi here! WTF?) I'll have to save my all-caps-iness for the review entry, I guess. Sigh.
So I had forgotten that today was Friday, but then realized that today wasn’t Doctor Who day, so it must still be Fringe day. I came to MarkWatches to make sure the liveblog post was up and the TOTES FREAKED OUT because I thought the title of the post was not the title of the episode, but when the episode had aired.
I’m having a weird day. I don’t take mandatory vacations well. Someone please explain to me why Good Friday is a state holiday? I’d rather take Mardi Gras and Halloween TYVM.

Could they not also use some of Walter's chromosomes to make the profile more complete? Obviously it'd be hit and miss but it couldn't hurt.
Not really, because there's chromosomal crossover, and Walternate's DNA might not make up a significant part of what they're missing. It might make it a little clearer, though. Maybe that's what they'll do!
Well, there's crossover with Olivia's DNA in the baby's DNA too. Which is why simply removing a few chromosomes wouldn't get them exactly half Peter's DNA. But that's getting a bit complicated for a show where most of anything medical is best not examined too closely, or really at all, beyond: OH; MAGICAL! (I do imagine that, especially as science is more advanced over there, that they'd be able to tell which DNA is from Peter, so that works out, even if it's not shown on screen.)
You're right though, there's simply no telling which parts of Walters DNA would have been passed on to Peter, but all paternal DNA (and all non-Oliva DNA) in the baby must be from him.
What surprised me, is that they have no DNA sample of Peter. He was there for a bit! It shouldn't have been too hard to get SOMETHING, if they don't have anything left from when he was a boy (baby teeth?).
Thanks 🙂 You're right about everything! My brain wasn't fully functional last night, but I also thought it was really weird that they didn't have any Peter DNA. What about his hairbrush? I guess it would be too much to hope for that Peter's blood spot screening card wasn't destroyed before he disappeared.

Well, the farther north and south you go, the longer the days get in the summer (and the shorter in winter). Where I live it's light at 6 am too right now (and dark a bit after 8 pm). Probably the show DID show the sun a bit high, that's filming times for you. I have no idea what the right hight of the sun would have been, but I don't think the sun rises earlier in the altverse, because that would imply a different tilt of the earth's axis, which should have consequences we haven't seen (I think).
