It’s Friday, and that means it is time for us to have a comment party for Fringe! This week, our Fringe team investigates thieves who can defy gravity as Walter does his best to prevent more damage in our universe. FRINGE LIVEBLOGGING TIME IS HERE!
That week-long break was TOO LONG. So glad this show is back!
Because we are all on the exact same ground this time around, our spoiler policy for these blogs will be completely different. Anything that has aired in the past is fair game for discussion. Anything that has not publicly aired WILL BE CONSIDERED A SPOILER. I know there are spoilers for “Os†floating around the ‘Net (WHICH I HAVE AVOIDED TYVM), so please, DO NOT POST THEM HERE. I know that this episode in particular has COMPLETE SPOILERS out there, so please be courteous to other viewers and keep them to yourself.
This liveblog will work in relative to when the episode airs for you. So, you may begin your livebloggy commenting down below when the episode starts. To avoid spoilers, I stick to the first page and comment away, and then go back afterwards to add any more.
Very glad to be back doing this. See you all tonight!
EW had an article in this week's issue (with LOST on the cover BTW!) about why people should watch Fringe and save it from cancellation. It wasn't the most inspiring article I've ever read admittedly, but I'm glad SOMEONE is going to bat in the mass media for it!! Can't wait for tonight!!
i'm just glad supernatural isn't on… so i can actually watch Fringe live!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting title this week. I keep thinking "Os" is Operating System, but that's not right.
WE CAN ONLY HOPE.
New episode tonight?! I still need to catch up on the last. I am determined to make it to a liveblog again though! \o/
oh… maybe the bad guys ate that candy from Santa Clause The Movie?????
Hooray for no scheduling conflicts for me!
I will be at home, in my jammies, making milkshakes specifically for this occasion. (Sorry, Walter, they will not be strawberry.)
So excited to watch! I've seen some spoiler posts on tumblr for future episodes, thankfully they were all behind cuts, and even though there were some very excited reactions, I didn't read them. Very happy with myself.
Not completely on topic, but kind of: my mom is watching season one for the first time and so far she thinks that Broyles is evil, Nina Sharp is evil, Peter's a clone, The Observer's are aliens or angels, and she yelled, "SIDEWAYS WORLD!" when Walter saw/imagined/hallucinated Walternate that one time he went back to St. Claire's.
I believed Nina was evil almost throughout the entire first season and Broyles wasn't painted in a positive light in the first couple episodes.
FUCK YEAH FRING!!
Fail for misspelling it.
ITS STARTING!
Jorge! He's cool
I love that Walter is getting high with Hurley. Mark's mind will explode.
lol hi walter! You are totally stoned!
Aw, Walter is so happy they're together and so sad at the same time…
Aw, I want to just hug him.
There's something so sad about the way he says "Back when everything was possible." Losing his son really made him lose himself.
So sad, and in turn feeding his new obsession.
OH MY GOD
Floating blood, floating man!!!
SO AWESOME!
Daisy chain? I missed something…
Ugh, he still hasn't told Olivia….
Peter, why are you lying again D:
Seriously. Why is he so hell bent on fucking things up?
He seriously cannot blame Olivia for not letting him in or trusting him when he does shit like this.
So true. And any slack he may have gotten from the Fauxlivia thing is just gone here. He's 100% doing this one himself.
Subtle product placement isn't subtle.
Aw, poor Olivia and Peter, no street fair.
Olivia has a snazzy car.
God, floating people are so cool.
Does anyone know who that guy with the mustache is? I recognize him, but I can't put my finger on it…
Cameron from Ferris Bueller.
Agh, thank you, that was driving me nuts!
Bueller? Bueller?
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Also, what do you expect dude, you are floating, there are side effects.
First letter is E
Darn, I missed the beginning! And it's pretty dead in here tonight. It looks like the PST liveblog!
You'd have to be pretty high to go through with that experiment.
Oh god Walter, you cannot just put balloons in people.
LOVE THIS.
D'aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww
Peter+Olivia ship!
You just know Walter blogs about them.
!!! Bleeding from the eyes is not a good sign!!!
Bloody eyeballs! Where is Nicole from ANTM?
Uh, whoops! Nice effort, Cameron from Ferris Bueller!
Oh god I was so tempted to make a lame Wicked joke when he said you can't defy gravity without consequences.
He got her name right!
Maybe because she's wearing purple? He got it right by association!
Whoops.
He called her Astrid! Is that not surprising anymore?
Oh god. They are talking about trust. Peter's gonna get caught soon.
My dog can make herself weigh 500 pounds when she wants. Maybe she's full of osmium?
Aw, discussing cute couple stuff!!!
MY HEART IS SO FULL OF WARMTH.
Peter is LYIIIIIIIIIIIIIING to you!!
Ugh, her heart is going to break so hard.
I know — I almost want to watch with my hands covering my eyes. It's like a suuuuper slow motion train wreck.
Oh, hi anvil!
HOLY SHIT, HE CUT HIM UP!??!?!?!?!!
Ok, well I was eating dinner UNTIL NOW. Yeesh.
I still have my beer, though. It's ok.
Oh. Oh my God.
HOW MANY ARE THERE?!?!
Eurgh. And haven't we done the whole stealing-body-parts thing this season?
I have a feeling it was less "stealing" and more "chopping in order to take samples and do sciency things." Fine line.
Good point. Marionettes are totally more creepy than sciencey.
Second letter is A!
E-A
So, I was wondering whether Os would be bones or mouths, but it turns out it's a symbol for a chemical element. Doi. Shoulda known better!
Murderball!
I always though muscular dystrophy gave you a shorter lifespan…
Ohhhh, his son has muscular dystrophy. That explains it.
You are a creepy predator, Cameron from Ferris Bueller. I knew that mustache was really a molestache.
How would Osmium make them float.
Poor Astrid, disposing of gallons of blood. So underrated.
Not underrated, but underappreciated.
Astrid does not get paid enough for this.
HOLDING HANDS! HOLDING HANDS!
D'aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww, hand holding~~~~~
Melting with joy…
UGH, SHAPESHIFTERS.
Oh Nina, you totally have an ulterior motive.
But it's not a terrible ulterior motive if it's to preserve the entire universe she lives in, right?
Oh, definitely. It's just funny to see her shipping Olivia and Peter for their own happiness.
Olivia and Peter holding hands is so cute
Wait… so this guy is performing alchemy?
Poor Astrid.
Walter needs a HUG. GIVE HIM A HUG.
Why is there no one to hug him!?!?!?
Because he's covered in blood and soda?
And that's the name of my next band.
I want a free tee-shirt!
We'll name our first album after you.
Excellent.
Oh Walter. This kind of desperation just cannot lead anywhere good.
ILU Nina.
E-A-R
Earth? Earns? Early?
Awwww, I want to give Walter all the hugs.
No child!! HE IS GOING TO POISON YOU WITH AN ALTERED HEAVY METAL.
He can fly.
I'm sort of jealous.
Floating up like an Oompa Loompa from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
I 100% hate how Mustache Cameron is taking advantage of these guys. It's so…evil.
Also, I stand by this opinion, even with the son reveal. It's truly dastardly to use the other people and twist their yearnings this way. He's only a few steps removed from a shyster, and he's 0 steps away from a murderer.
Oh, so you hook them on osmium and then you get them to do your dirty work. Cameron is like a drug dealer in an afterschool special.
There is no plain evil dude in this show. Every bad guy is trying to help someone.
Fun grey areas.
That's one of the things I like best about Fringe. All the "villains" are sympathetic to varying degrees.
Poor kid. Your dad is a crazy scientist.
Creeperstache's son is extremely attractive.
So is this episode going to be a parallel to Walter doing anything to save Peter?
This poor kid. What does he know about breaking into stuff?
This is probably the coolest way to break in ever.
That's what you get for following a mustachioed man into his basement.
Oh dear
Oh, thank goodness, Peter caught him.
E-A-R-T
Earth?
It's a good thing Peter has good aim. I can't imagine jumping from that height would have been good had he missed.
You did more than hurt them.
Poor kid. I hate that the guy's trying to justify himself by saying it would be worth it for his son.
Poor kid. All the masks are gone.
Your son has to live with what you did.
Walter sounded very Walternate there, when he said "how did you defy the laws of physics?"
Walter probably thinks about Daedalus and Icarus a lot.
It's like multiplying a negative by a negative! Or something!
Whoops. Walter broke physics.
We're breaking apart and Walter is going to summon William Bell.
I need more Leonard Nimoy in my life.
Fffffff they're so cute <33
OH GOD HE'S GOING TO TELL HER
*FOAMING AT THE MOUTH FROM FEAR*
AND YAY. He's telling Olivia!
GOOD BOY.
Sure Peter. No secrets.
"I've been lying to you, but I would really like you to super duper trust me right now."
THE BELL, THE BELL
He rang in the alternate universe with Olivia too.
BELL
How long are Walter and Nina gonna stare at that door?
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BELL IS IN OLIVIA!!!
HOLY CRAP BELL.
AAAAHHHHHHHH!
Sheeeee-it
HER VOICEEEEEEEEEEEE LOLFOREVER
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EARTH
Also, Anna Torv is BAMF!
I love that the Fringe writers were probably like, "We don't give Anna enough to do."
She gets to play yet another character! Which is good, because I love Olivia and Anna!
