Intrigued? Then it’s time for Mark to watch Galavant.Â

A lot happened in this episode, LET’S GO.

Sid

I do feel bad for him, y’all. Galavant’s death at his hands was so weird and seemingly impossible, but I did assume that Galavant was just going to joke about it as much as he could. Hell, I would! And the jokes were pretty damn good, I must say. However, it’s clear that at least from Galavant’s perspective, he didn’t actually need Sid to redeem himself. It was an accident, first of all, and it also allowed Galavant to gain the support of all the zombies… who respond to love… which makes practically no sense, but I don’t care? IT WORKS, THE END. Yet Sid has gone now, to some place to do a thing, and he didn’t have to. How does he redeem himself while alone???

Isabella

I admire that she’s trying to make the best of a shitty, shitty situation. It also doesn’t help that literally no one in Hortensia seems even remotely interesting in victory as she does. The irony, of course, is that until the end of the episode, both she and Galavant have something the other person needs. Isabella has no weapons, but an army. Galavant has weapons, but his army is… well, more on that later. How do you stop an invading army when your people don’t care? When your country doesn’t have a stock of weapons? When the king and queen have already given up?

More power to Isabella, y’all. She’s trying.Â

D’DEW

Wow, that really is the worst name, isn’t it? It’s so terrible! And of course, the writers find five BILLION ways in which to use it, turn it into a pun, try to make it sexy… NO, GALAVANT, NO, STOP TRYING TO MAKE D’DEW HAPPEN.Â

Yet it does, and unsurprisingly, Madalena pursed dark magic to guarantee the outcome of her war with Hortensia. It’s perfectly in-character for her, isn’t it? After hearing that the Hero’s Sword was in play, she became insecure, and it was over then. She made up her mind then.Â

But I feel like I need to mention that Wormwood is perhaps the least trustworthy character on the show. So… what exactly did she sign? What happens to her soul now that she has the power of D’DEW? (Lord, do I hate typing that.) We also don’t know what her powers entail. During the final song, her eyes light up red, but… that isn’t going to help? Wormwood promised that she could turn events in her favor, but WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I am anticipating Wormwood to reveal some ulterior motive or random side effect, y’all. It’s gonna happen.Â

The End

Love is the fabric of this story, as silly as it can be at times. Love allows Richard to make a connection with Roberta. FINALLY. They are SO cute together, y’all, and weirdly well-suited for one another? I have a similar reaction to Richard being affectionate as I do with Madalena’s scenes because they’re such big villains. Well… Richard has changed a lot, hasn’t it? He even remarks in this episode that he’s been on one hell of a journey since the beginning of the show. He’s actually Galavant’s friend, despite that he’s the reason this whole nightmare started in the first place.Â

But as he learned to think of others and stop insulting himself, he found love. ONLY TO HAVE IT RIPPED AWAY AFTER ONE EPISODE. Oh, lord, I get Roberta’s reasoning, I really do. That’s one thing that hasn’t changed about Richard. He has no fighting skills whatsoever, y’all. He’s gonna die on that battlefield if he’s only relying on that! I suspect some strange set of events will prevent this, though. Perhaps Galavant’s love will continue to inspire his zombie army! And Madalena’s army will be defeated! And Sid will be fine!
