Intrigued? Then it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time for Mark to watch <i>Alias<\/i> and get destroyed by it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Has an episode of <i>Alias<\/i> ever had so many plot twists in it? Please, someone, save me from what this show is doing to me. I HAVE SO MANY CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS!!!!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The opening of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Prophet Five\u00e2\u20ac\u009d made me realize just how much this episode is nothing but one cliffhanger after another. There is so much left unanswered, despite that we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re starting to get an idea what this Prophet Five organization is and why they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been so secretive over the course of the show.<\/li>\n<li>(Well, I also suspect that the <i>Alias<\/i> writers just created them either at the end of the last season or during the break between seasons. Which is okay! Y\u00e2\u20ac\u2122all, I <i>love<\/i> conspiracy theories a lot, and this show just trotted out a ridiculous conspiracy theory with deadly consequences and I AM SUCH TRASH FOR THIS TROPE.)<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Seriously, I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t ever get to recover from a twist in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Prophet Five\u00e2\u20ac\u009d before another one knocked me flat on my ass.<\/li>\n<li>This is a visual representation of me during this episode.<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6835\" src=\"http:\/\/markwatches.net\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/dog-knock.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" \/><\/li>\n<li>You know it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s true.<\/li>\n<li>I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t expect pretty much <i>any<\/i> of this. In the scenes post-accident, I assumed that I <i>was<\/i> right, that Vaughn would be carted off and stay unconscious in order to maximize the drama of his admission. I DID NOT EXPECT HIM TO BE KIDNAPPED.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The emotional whiplash of this episode is <i>incredibly<\/i> effective, though. And for what it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s worth, I admire that the show doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t give a shit about our expectations. Oh, you thought that Vaughn was going to be taken away by medical professionals? JUST KIDDING, IT\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S SOME WEIRD, SECRETIVE CULT WHO FIGURED OUT WHO HE REALLY IS! Oh, you thought Vaughn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s name was Vaughn? Just kidding, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Andre Michaux. HAVE FUN, WHO CARES IF YOU HAVE TO ADJUST YOUR ENTIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SERIES.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Oh, Vaughn got kidnapped? Surprise, he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s under investigation for being a possible double agent. What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s that? You hadn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t recovered from his kidnapping, either? TOO FUCKING BAD.<\/li>\n<li>So, I was already reeling about fifteen minutes into this episode, and this <i>never<\/i> let up from there. APO is in shambles because of this, and no one know what the actual truth is. But I <i>did<\/i> love that Marshall and Dixon were so quick to give Sydney and Vaughn the benefit of the doubt. Look, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not like there haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t been numerous double agents in these characters\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 lives, and yet? There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a sense of loyalty between the core group that is practically impossible to break. (Grumble, grumble, THIS IS WHY IT WAS BAD TO LEAVE DIXON OUT OF THE SEASON FOUR FINALE, grumble, grumble.) That callback to season one, where Dixon caught Sydney on the pier, was such a brilliant little moment. SYDNEY AND DIXON SHOULD INTERACT MORE, PLEASE FIX THIS <i>ALIAS<\/i> WRITERS.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>(I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t actually affect this show, but you know what I mean.)<\/li>\n<li>So, let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s talk about Prophet Five. Are they connected to Rambaldi in any way? See, I always assumed the Mueller device <i>was<\/i> a Rambaldi device, but maybe I just didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t understand it? Regardless, there are some stylistic parallels between the Rambaldi arc and this one, particularly since they both concern ancient articles that have an effect on the present day. I have no idea what is in that book that Vaughn stole, nor do I understand why it is so important. Something to do with genetics? Which <i>also<\/i> feels like the Rambaldi stuff. I DON\u00e2\u20ac\u2122T GET IT YET.<\/li>\n<li>Apparently, though, the Prophet 5 group is so vicious in their protection of this information that <i>anyone<\/i> who gets close to discovering what this is gets murdered. LIKE, STRAIGHT-UP, NO SECOND CHANCES, YOU DIE. Which is why Bill Vaughn had his own name changed along with his newborn son\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. As far as I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m concerned, this addresses Vaughn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153real\u00e2\u20ac\u009d name and his double agent status. How Renee Rienn (spelling?? I DON\u00e2\u20ac\u2122T KNOW) fits into this is still a mystery, but I assume that they worked together before Sydney showed up. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all we know: that Vaughn got info on the Mueller device from her and then\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 disappeared? I NEED TO KNOW MORE.<\/li>\n<li>That is not all I need.<\/li>\n<li>Friends.<\/li>\n<li>I need some more.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Actually, I just need one thing.<\/li>\n<li>ONE.<\/li>\n<li>THING.<\/li>\n<li>FOR THIS EPISODE TO REVERSE TIME AND MAKE THIS NOT HAPPEN<\/li>\n<li>I LITERALLY CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THIS IS REAL, AND I DON\u00e2\u20ac\u2122T KNOW WHAT TO DO<\/li>\n<li>HOW THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE SYDNEY FIND OUT SHE IS PREGNANT<\/li>\n<li>AND THEN TEN MINUTES LATER<\/li>\n<li>VAUGHN IS SHOT LIKE A MILLION TIMES<\/li>\n<li>AND THEN THEY HAVE THE BEST\/WORST CONVO IN THE HOSPITAL<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>AND<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>THEN<\/li>\n<li>THE<\/li>\n<li>SHOW<\/li>\n<li>KILLS<\/li>\n<li>OFF<\/li>\n<li>VAUGHN<\/li>\n<li>NO<\/li>\n<li><b>NO!!!!!!!!!!!!1<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Who allowed this? <i>Who do I have to write a strongly-worded letter to?<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li>I literally don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know how to talk about this. To say I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m shocked is an understatement. <i>Alias<\/i> has certainly escalated things faster than I expected, but\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a main character. He is having a child with another main character. <i>This isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t supposed to happen<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know how to deal with this show without Vaughn. I mean, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m going to <i>have<\/i> to, but what does this season\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s arc look like without him? What about all his knowledge of Prophet 5? Is that gone, too? Or will Sydney learn the truth from Renee?<\/li>\n<li>I am so messed up.
