Y’all, MY FIRST\u00c2\u00a0STAR TREK<\/em> PREDICTION POST HAS ARRIVED. There are many to come in the future, but let’s all cackle at my inability to guess anything correctly. OR! Perhaps I’ll be eerily correct? MAYBE.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

So, in case Mark Watches\u00c2\u00a0Star Trek<\/em> is your first experience with one of these posts, allow me to remind you:<\/p>\n

Do not spoil me or anyone else who posts their predictions<\/strong>. This includes, but is not limited to: posting how many things we got right or wrong; Quoting something in plain text to laugh or comment on, which often can easily confirm or deny a prediction; hinting at wrongness or rightness; YOU GET THE IDEA.<\/p>\n

These posts are more about publicly embarrassing myself than anything else.\u00c2\u00a0Please don’t post fake predictions and pretend to be watching this for the first time<\/strong>. (People have done this.) Just have fun, make sure anything even remotely spoilery is in rot13. BE NICE.<\/p>\n

So! Let’s try this. I think that this will be a little challenging to come up with a lot of predictions because of the nature of the show, but HERE GOES.<\/p>\n

  1. The use of redshirts will be more egregious this season. LOTS OF REDSHIRTS MUST DIE FOR THIS TO COUNT.<\/li>\n
  2. The following characters will get one episode focusing on them in some sense: Spock, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, and Bones. (This is vague, but I’m openly cheating.)<\/li>\n
  3. TRIBBLES. WHERE ARE THE TRIBBLES? They’re in this season.<\/li>\n
  4. We will also get at least one monster\/creature that is NOT a puppet, but a human\/animal in a costume.<\/li>\n
  5. We will see another Federation ship!<\/li>\n
  6. We will see more Vulcans.<\/li>\n
  7. MORE KLINGONS.<\/li>\n
  8. We will get at least\u00c2\u00a0TEN<\/strong> new alien species over the course of the season.<\/li>\n
  9. The first onscreen death will be in the third episode.<\/li>\n
  10. We will get another episode dealing with time travel.<\/li>\n
  11. We will get another episode dealing with a parallel universe \/ alternate dimension.<\/li>\n
  12. Captain Kirk’s shirt will get torn four times.<\/li>\n
  13. Spock will say “Most illogical” at least three times.<\/li>\n
  14. OKAY, HERE’S A BIG ONE: A major character will die this season.<\/li>\n
  15. We will also get two\u00c2\u00a0new<\/em> regular characters this season!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Okay, off I go to watch the second season premiere. HOW EXCITING.<\/p>\n
